Welcome welcome welcome!
It's been 6 long years of struggling to teach myself general coding and projects I have taken up have taught me various lessons at hand and community after thoughts and impressions have also taught me a few lessons of what not todo and to focus more on. I like to consider myself a home brew dev because alot of my work is unique. It's noobish while inspiring. What many experience devs may see as childs play or clockwork to me is exciting new innovations ready to make a difference. The one project that has taught me a great deal of experience and lessons is Sapphire Launcher.
Sapphire Launcher recently recieved its end of the year update, 12.1! The main goal was to fix as many bugs as possible, solidify the interface, patch up any new features that needed fixed and basically let it take its place on the Google Play market, not to say development is done. In August, I had announced I would be working on a new launcher called Sapphyx, now only to here that the project has been postponed due to the innoficiancy of my computer workspace. Dire upgrades are needed in order for the project to be completed thus pushing the project a lower priority. Not to say it now not going to happen, just some things are going to change and maybe even the name of it. A little information on this project that I havn't talked about yet. Back when I was a rom developer for the Droid Razr, I was working on a sequel to my Bionx Catalyst rom called Requiem. It was the first Bionx Open Source Project I was going to release but with a few things happening in my life at the time, the project was cancelled due to a number of obsticles. In the source was a custom launcher I was very excited to show the community but it never seen the light of day. My current goal was to revive the launcher from its grave and bring it to android 6.0+ devices and as you could imagine an application that was intended for Android 4.4 needs alot of improvement. My goal is to someday bring that launcher new life and introduce it to the Sapphire Launcher community. At this time, its scheduled to launch as a premium product at a price, support only 64bit devices and be a homebrew launcher of innovation but with my current hardware, its time is not yet. The problems im having is emulating the launcher in the sdk android emulators and building it at the same time, my dekstop computer just cant handle the damage at this time. Alot of work needs to be done and what I need doing isn't just possible to satisfy the customer base so it will have to wait. To keep my community still excited for the year, Ive decided to work on another launcher project that make it's way into the playstore sooner than later.
Sapphire Launcher EX will be launching in 2017 as the sequel to our fan favorite homebrew launcher project, Sapphire Launcher. This launcher was created on the behave of users requesting some sort of buff for purchasing the premium and onyx keys. I only seen this fair and the only way to reward them was an upgrade to their favorite launcher. Not much is currently known about this launcher other than the fact that it will be based on the newest branch of code available for Launcher3. I will also be focusing on rich features users enjoyed in Sapphire launcher and rebuilding them from the ground up with material design in mind and to be very compeitive against other 3rd party launchers but not to competitive to replace them. Only to focus on the features users enjoyed the most. The other important factor is to focus on the outside. To support add-ons and exclusive features and paid/free upgrades and services. This was something that was not compatible of doing with Sapphire Launcher. Untill this launcher is actually up and running and ready to be previewed by the community, not a whole lot can be talked about here, only the summary planned details.
GocalSD homesite is seeing improvements soon, along with it mobile app. With the release of GSD Mobile, community members and followers can now look and see what all my new apps are and if their are any sales or promotions going on. GSD Mobile 2.0 was a massive revamp update compared to what it initially was meant to be as originally created. This update will be recieving a numerous of updates as feedback for the application roles in and with the support of the new GSD License keys, this application will also verify your license for future products and purchases. GSD License (Basic, Premium, and Onyx) now will be supported by all GSD apps that support them. Some premium apps may need to be purchased still but with good reason. Sapphire Launcher EX will be the first product to use the Premium and Onyx keys to gain access.
Again, Their is no game plan at the moment. Just dreams, ideas and concepts i have to hope to produce as a physical product and hope the members of GSD will appreciate. That is all I have for now but I will concentrate to make monthly blogs a thing now so All projects that are currenlty being worked on are announced and gained some attention by the lovely people who support me. Have an awesome holiday weekend that's coming up and Il be sure to share some tasty information when it becomes avaialble for new projects im designing.
